Branch Story
Swami Arjunandha, a direct disciple of revered Guruswamigal laid the austere foundation for the spiritual growth of the Saiva Sithantha Sungum, Westcliff Branch. The branch was the divine brainchild of venerable Sri Karunainandha Swamigal – the successor of our Divine Master – Brahma Sri Siva Soobramonia Guruswamigal.
Sri Karunainandha Swamigal, we believe, was inspired by our Master in the building style of our Westcliff Branch. Sri Swami Sivanandha Navalar, the personal attendant / personal secretary to Guruswamigal was responsible for the opening of the Branch in 1974.
Kavi Yogi Suddhanandha Bharati of Yoga Samaj, Chennai was present.
Sri Karunainandha Swamigal had a divine vision for the structural building, so that it could cater for the various needs of our community. To this end, we as members of the Westcliff Branch are joyous to report that we are respecting this need, and accomplishing the aspiration of the successor of Guruswamigal.
Our Sungum is a rare physical edifice – a gift from the holy master. We have enjoyed the divine presence of many rare and illuminated souls.
Following the path of Guruswamigal, many rare spiritual illuminaries have touched the soil of the Westcliff Branch, thereby adding to the Divinity of its abode.
HH Sivaya Subraminiswami of the Kauaii Addheenam and two of his monks stayed at Westcliff Branch.
To mention some sages / saints who have visited us are Sri la Sri Pandrimalai Swamigal of the Om Nama Sivaya Ashram of
