New Years Message by Swami Siva Yogananda

In the sacred name of our Satguru H.H. Brahma Sri Siva Subramonia Guru Swamigal I convey my love, heartfelt greetings and Vanakam to the Swamis, Gurus and members of the Sungum.

As we now approach the year end 2025 we reflect on the past twelve months, the year in which greater demands were placed on the resources and expertise of the organization to achieve the optimum outcomes in service delivery. 

With the unpredictability and uncertainty of the outcomes of the Commissions and investigations into the corruption and embezzlement of funds running into billions in all tiers of Government, the people of this country are experiencing so much of fear, stress, anxiety and anguish which are exacerbated by the unprecedented levels of crime and violence including political killings in this country. At this point in time our only hope lies in the abundant love, bountiful grace and divine blessings of Supreme Sivaperumaan. In 2026 we must strive to live in a state of pure consciousness navigating our lives through our thoughts, words and actions into a pure and beautiful state and in divine connectedness which will yield peace of mind and protection of our lives especially during the turbulent times resulting from the social, political and economic challenges in this country. 

New Year signifies new beginnings, renewal, regeneration and resurrection of our lives into elevated levels of consciousness. We are all so blessed to be travelling in a sacred pathway mapped out by our Satguru H.H. Brahma Sri Siva Subramonia Guru SwamigaI, a pathway in which we can experience phenomenal spiritual growth and development and inner spiritual fulfillment. In the coming year 2026 we as the members of the Sungum must walk circumspectly in our journey ahead constantly guided by the teachings of our Master and imbibing them into our lives. 

We must also ask ourselves three questions:

• Where did I come from? This is the place where you were when you did not know about the Master, his teachings and the Sungum.

• Where am I now?  Your present life as impacted by the Master, his teachings and the Sungum.

• Where do I want to go to? This is the point in your life in which you will realize your aspirations, your goals and visions you have created for yourself.

When you answer these questions truthfully you will discover whether you are running on the spot or travelling progressively on your journey. You will even discover your authentic self. For all your successes and accomplishments and all the good in your life live in gratitude and express gratitude to your Divine for it is only through the grace of your Divine that everything happens in your life. When you discover your true self you will also become aware of your faults and failures and your ignoble thoughts, bad attitudes and your impure actions and from this witness state you can experience transformation in your journey and set yourself free from the imprisonment of your own defects.

We are going through tough and challenging times especially towards the end of the Kaliyuga period. Please protect yourselves from the risks and dangers of this world, protect yourselves from the evil of this world and the evil people of this world and protect yourselves from all the diseases, sicknesses and infections of this world. Please take care of yourselves and your families during this festive season especially at the beaches, shopping malls and all public spaces. 

On behalf of all the structures of Saiva Sithantha Sungum I wish everyone all the best in the festive season and may your lives be blessed with joy, peace and happiness during Christmas and good health, good wealth and good relationships. May the fountain of bliss shower you with raindrops of spiritual ecstasy and inner contentment during the festive season and into the year 2026.
