As followers of Lord Siva and Guru Swamigal, we have been blessed with a spiritual path that offers us the opportunity to connect with Sivaperumaan and live a life of purpose and meaning.
However, our spiritual journey is not just about our personal growth and development; it is also about serving society and making a positive impact in the world.
As Siva devotees, we have a responsibility to serve others and contribute to the betterment of society. This is because Lord Siva is not just a deity of creation, preservation and dissolution but also a symbol of compassion and love. He represents the highest ideals of service, sacrifice, and selflessness, and as his followers, we must strive to embody these virtues in our daily lives.
Serving society can take many forms. It can be as simple as volunteering at a local shelter or donating to a charity that supports the less fortunate. It can also involve using our talents and skills to make a positive impact in our communities, such as teaching others, mentoring young people, or creating art that inspires and uplifts.
When we serve society, we are not just helping others, but we are also serving Lord Siva. This is because every act of service that we perform is an act of devotion to the divine. It is a way of expressing our gratitude for the blessings that we have received and honoring the sacredness of all life.
Serving society is also a way of deepening our spiritual practice. When we serve others, we are engaging in a form of selfless action that helps us overcome our ego and connect with a higher power. It is a way of transcending our personal desires and aligning ourselves with the divine will of God.
Our founder and master His Holiness Brahma Sri Siva Soobramonia Guru Swamigal was a great spiritual master who embodied the ideals of service and selflessness. He dedicated his life to serving society and spreading the message of love and compassion.
The Guru Swamigal says : “Engage yourself in social service, involve yourself in selflessness” - in other words - Serve society unselfishly without any expectations.
Let us commit ourselves to serving society and making a positive impact in the world. Let us embody the virtues of service, sacrifice, and selflessness that Lord Siva and our dear Guru Swamigal represents and use our spiritual practice as a way of deepening our connection with God.
Let us remember that every act of service that we perform is an act of devotion to Lord Siva, and let us strive to live our lives in a way that honours the sacredness of all life.
Aum Namasivaya!
